How to Commission a Painting
To commission an pet or animal portrait or any other subject is very simple.
Email or Call me for a chat about your requirements.
You can then either send photos of your subject or if you live within a reasonable distance, we can arrange a meeting and I can take some photographs myself.
When commissioning a pet portrait, if you supply the photos it is important that they are of reasonable quality ,wither they be printed and sent by post or sent digitally. If this isn’t possible and you are unable to take new ones, I will try to work with the photos you provide. However, if I feel they are not good enough to work from, I will tell you.
I love animals and I’m happy to paint them all – no matter how large, small or unusual they may be!
Pricing & Materials
Decide what medium and size you want for your portrait.
Below are pricing guides for each medium to give an idea of what would best suit your budget.
These prices and sizes are guidelines, the more you want on your canvas the more time is spent painting and this will be reflected on the price. (i.e. a detailed background to your pet portrait will cost more, where as a simple wash would be included in the price.)
All prices for work will be agreed and a deposit paid before the painting is started.
All commissioned paintings are delivered unmounted and unframed unless otherwise agreed between us prior to the work commencing.
Most square oil paintings are painted on to Raw Linen canvas, Landscape or portrait paintings onto white canvas.
All Watercolours are painted on Arches Aquarelle Rough or Not Paper – 640gsm
All pencil drawings will be on Quality Cartridge Paper – 300gsm
